Rose Candiru

Head of Health Department

Founding Member and registered nurse

Background
  • Registered nurse
  • Reproductive health and community outreach, Marie Stopes
  • Health programme design and delivery

Rose Candiru is a founding member of the Islamic Development Partnership Network and serves as the Head of the Health Department. She is a registered nurse and a dedicated health professional with extensive experience in healthcare service delivery, community health programmes, health management and humanitarian interventions.

Rose has built a strong professional background through her work with various organisations, including Marie Stopes, where she gained valuable experience in healthcare services, reproductive health, community outreach and improving access to quality health services. Her experience working with non-governmental organisations has strengthened her understanding of public health challenges, programme implementation, community engagement and effective health systems management.

As Head of the Health Department she provides leadership and technical guidance in designing and implementing health-related programmes that align with the Network's objectives. Her expertise directly supports the commitment to improving access to quality healthcare, promoting preventive health education, supporting vulnerable populations, strengthening nutrition initiatives and contributing to healthier communities.

She understands the realities faced by underserved communities and brings practical experience in addressing health challenges through community-based approaches, partnerships and evidence-based solutions.

Her leadership contributes to strengthening the Network's health programmes and advancing its vision of serving all people without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity, gender or social background. Her appointment also reflects a deliberate principle at IDPN: leadership positions are held on competence, integrity and commitment rather than religious affiliation.
