Amir, IDPN Muslim Projects, and Founding Member

Background
  • Water and borehole development
  • Mosque construction and rehabilitation
  • Orphan support, Ramadan and Eid relief

Sheikh Adam Okua is a founding member of the Islamic Development Partnership Network and serves as the Head of Muslim Projects, providing leadership and coordination for programmes designed to support Muslim communities and advance humanitarian and faith-based development initiatives.

As a respected Amir, Sheikh Adam provides spiritual, community and organisational leadership in the implementation of the Network's Muslim-focused programmes. His role combines religious guidance with practical community service, helping ensure that projects respond to the needs of vulnerable families, worshippers, orphans and underserved communities.

Under his leadership the department coordinates clean water and borehole projects, mosque construction and rehabilitation, animal slaughter and meat distribution, orphan support, Ramadan assistance, Eid programmes and other charitable and humanitarian interventions.

A key area of his responsibility is supporting water and sanitation initiatives, particularly the development of water sources for communities, mosques, schools and other institutions where access to safe and reliable water remains a challenge. These interventions contribute to improved health, dignity, hygiene and community resilience.

During Ramadan the department coordinates charitable activities such as food assistance, community iftar support and other forms of relief aimed at helping vulnerable households observe the holy month with dignity. He also leads animal slaughter and meat distribution programmes, particularly during Eid Al-Adha.

As Amir, Sheikh Adam emphasises the Islamic principles of Amanah, Rahmah, Adl, Ihsan and Sadaqah in the implementation of Muslim projects. He encourages responsible stewardship of donations and resources and promotes service to humanity as an important expression of faith.

His leadership complements the Network's broader commitment to inclusive development. While he heads programmes specifically serving Muslim communities, the overall humanitarian and development mission remains open to people of all faiths and backgrounds.
